The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) runs the Common Recruitment Process for Probationary Officers and Management Trainees in public sector banks. It has three stages: a preliminary exam, a main exam and an interview.

ExamForge gives you 10 free, timed practice sets with 5 options per question (A to E), as in the real exam. Set 1 is a full 100-question prelims-style paper; later sets are shorter and cover English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. Every question has an explanation after you submit, and your first three sets need no signup.

The real exam deducts a quarter of a mark for each wrong answer. ExamForge does not, so take a quarter off for each wrong answer to see your exam-style score.

Prelims marks only decide who goes to the main exam. The main exam adds Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, and General, Economy and Banking Awareness, and the final merit list weighs the main exam 80% and the interview 20%. ExamForge covers the prelims subjects and the common main-exam style of question.

Eligibility

Age
20 to 30 years, with relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and ex-servicemen.
Nationality
Indian citizen, or a citizen of Nepal, Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin as the notification allows.

Selection process

Selection runs in this order.

  1. Preliminary exam

    The online screening test above.

  2. Main exam

An objective paper and a descriptive English paper (letter and essay) on the same day.

  3. Interview

A 100-mark panel interview for those who clear the main exam.

  4. Provisional allotment

Banks are allotted by the final merit list and the preferences you gave.

Preparation tips

  • Practise one section at a time under the clock

Each prelims section has its own 20 minutes, so the sectional sets are the best way to build that rhythm.

  • Learn shortcuts for calculation

Simplification, approximation and series questions are won by speed rather than depth.

  • Solve two puzzles every day

Seating arrangements get faster only with repetition.

  • Skip, then return

With a penalty on wrong answers, leave the unclear question and come back if time remains.

Common questions

Why are there 5 options per question?

Banking exams such as IBPS and SBI use five options, A to E, for each question. ExamForge shows all five.

Why do later sets have fewer questions?

Sets 1 to 10 have 100, 79, 59, 56, 46, 43, 26, 17, 19 and 9 questions. Set 1 is the full length; the later ones are short practice sets, with one minute for each question.

Does IBPS PO have negative marking?

Yes, 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. ExamForge does not deduct marks, so subtract the penalty yourself.

Is ExamForge free?

Yes. Your first three sets need no account; create a free account to keep practising and keep your history.
